George William Gill  D.G.A.

Artist's Statement My aim is to continue pushing at the boundaries of my work; changing media from time to time  keeps my work fresh and helps to retain the excitement and joy of discovery.

However, my favourite media is painting in oils, which, in itself, offers a wide scope for experimenting.

If I can reach just one person with my art; that connection is priceless and the feedback outlives us all. Music and Art defines my life.

CV 1970-1980 Studied Painting and Drawing in Sheffield, Oxford and St.Albans, and Illustration at Watford College of Art and Design.

Preferring to experiment and explore the possibilities of using different media, I didn’t pursue a career in illustration.

1980’s Work became more figurative after moving to the country in 1985.

Commissions include Malcolm King - King Sturge & Co.-The Machrie Hotel as Artist in Residence on the Isle of Islay (Inner Hebredes)

2000 Prince Nicholas of Prussia Patron, the late Baron Charles von Westernholz of Lt Blakesware (British Wheatfields). I provided Painting tuition to Lady Mary von Westernholz on Lady Mary's request.

I have been selective in taking on commissions for landscapes and portraits in order to pursue my own ideas and inspirations.
